This may seem like a lot of information to the beginner, but our streamline program can get you out on the water,
confident in your abilities within a week or two. Each area of learning comes with reference books and/or CD
reference files for future review. Also, after completion of the program you are welcome to call us at any time to ask
questions or for free consultation if you are in need of assistance. This comes in handy if you are trying to trouble
shoot a problem while underway. Sometimes a quick phone call can save you a lot of money.
After completion of your training, you will receive a beautifully displayed Yachtsman Certificate, detailed with the areas
of completion and mastery, that can be proudly displayed on the boat or at your home.

Whether you are a first time boat owner or an experienced operator
wishing to upgrade, Nautica West has developed this program to
assist you in operating YOUR boat upon YOUR local waters. Our
Captains will come to your desired location and stay for as long as
necessary. They will gladly work with you one-on-one or with your
entire family.
This specialized training is designed for owner/operators with motor
yachts from 30 to 300 feet in length. The training is customized for
each operator and his/her needs. It can range from one specified
topic or it can encompass the entire spectrum of professional
seamanship and boat handling skills. The training may include:

Emergency and Life saving equipment can be an expensive addition for new owner/operators if their vessel is not
already fully equipped. Nautica West keeps an inventory of these important items available for rent. These
include, Mustang Suits, Immersion Suits, PFDs, Portable Inflatable Life Rafts, EPIRBs and Portable VHF Radios.
We also have Navigation Laptops with GPS and plotting software. These items are available for both new owners
