Appraisals are most commonly used for financing, estate valuation, donations and legal cases such as divorce
settlements. Nautica West will produce certified appraisal reports within 24 hours of the vessels inspection.
Included in these reports are a series of thermal images of the vessels hull, transom, engines, generators and
electrical systems as well as an extensive portfolio of photographs of the vessels interior and exterior.
The cost of an appraisal is less than a standard pre-purchase survey. Each vessel and the type of appraisal is

Engine and Generator Compression Testing as well as Microscopic Oil Analysis is recommended for pre-
purchase surveys. These are an additional cost but ensures that the engines are in good working condition and
that there are no internal problems. At the very least, an Oil Analysis should be done. This is only an additional
$40 and the results will be back within 24 hours. The cost of Compression Testing depends on the size of each
engine.
